Senior quantity surveyor

•    Bsc Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
•    5-10 years experience with either a Main Contractor or Large Sub-Contractor on large scale construction projects (MEP experience a distinct advantage)
•    Ideally International experience

To provide full support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration functions. Responsible for overall Financial profitability  of Projects and control over all day to day commercial and contractual issues in compliance with Local statutory regulations. Work closely with Project Manager  and client representative to ensure project objectives and client expectations are met

Main responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
•    Provide advice and mentoring to QS team and administrative staff
•    Validation of all tender and construction budgets to ensure strict compliance
•    Assist in Value Engineering solutions with construction team
•    Preparing of Internal Monthly Cost Report to ensure compliance with validated margins and full liaison with Finance Department on a monthly basis
•     Identify analyse and develop responses to Commercial risks on a timely basis
•    Preparing of Detailed Project cash flows on the project on a weekly/ monthly basis
•    Work with Finance to ensure efficient foreign currency control on the project
•    Work with Finance to ensure all supplier credit terms are met and there are no penalties incurred for late payment.
•    Prepare tenders for sub-contract packages and provide full financial and contractual analysis of same
•    Procuring of sub-contract packages including placing of sub-contracts and on-going monitoring and administration of same to project handover
•    Identify and prepare requests for variations and associated pricing and agreement of same with the Clients Representative
•    Ensure all snagging Costs are separately budgeted for and accounted for. Are
•    Work with Finance to ensure all retention monies are received in accordance with contract with client
•    Assessment and agreement of sub-contractor and supplier variations on a timely basis
•    Ensure compliance with Contract Programme/Schedule and provide weekly reports to construction team on planned versus actual progress
•    Prepare, submit and follow up on applications for interim payment certificates and agreement of same with Clients Representative
•    Assist in creating an accessible file with records/documents which forms the basis for possible dispute resolution and/or claims should they arise
•    To propose and write letters, and timely notifications in accordance with the contract requirements
•    Prepare (interim) claims inclusive substantiation (records, photo's, drawings etc) in accordance with the contract
•    Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
•    To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
•    Reporting directly to Commercial Manager and Project Manager
